STUDENT DROP OFF AND PICK-UP SAFETY RULES

The Wilson Office is closed for Summer Break and will reopen on 8/3/26. We are located on the corner of Florinda and Park Ave. All visitors must check in through the office.

All students should use the student entrance before and after school located next to the bus lane on Park Ave next to our Admin Building. Once school starts the Office entrance will be available for late students.

The Bus Lane is only for buses and not a drop off for unauthorized vehicles. Please keep the bus lane clear at all times so our busses can come and go as needed. Please do not double park along Park Street, the road needs to remain clear for busses and other parents to make their way through.

Yard supervisors are on campus at 7:15 am students are not to be on campus before then.
Students may enter campus through the gate located on Park next to the bus lane.
Parent/Guardians will use main office entrance at Florinda and Park Ave.
Pick-up Zones are located along Park Ave and Ivy St. The parking lot is not an area to drop off or pick up students. Students should always use sidewalks and never walk/run across the parking lot.
Do not drop off students in an area that would have them run across moving traffic. Students should ALWAYS use designated crossing areas to help prevent dangerous accidents.
All students and adults should always use the crosswalk.
If you need to get out of your car for any reason, please park your car in a designated parking area. Do not leave your car parked in the loading zone.
While in the loading/drop off area, move up to the next available spot. Please be patient. For the safety of our students and to make sure the loading area moves along as smooth as possible, please do not double park.

Information for Parents & Students

Every student needs to come prepared for school with a charged device and backpack
Every student is expected to follow the dress and grooming guidelines beginning the first day. Predominately red articles of clothing, backpacks, shoes, etc. are not permitted.
School attendance is important. In order to participate in the 8th grade promotion activities, all 8th grade students may miss no more than 17 days of school and have no more than 17 tardies or truancies. Additionally, students may become ineligible for sports any reward activities.
Woodrow Wilson is a closed campus. Students may not leave the campus at any time without permission.
Students may request a schedule change after the first two weeks of school and after the 1st week of each subsequent trimester. Students should listen to morning announcements on how to request a schedule change. Only elective classes can be requested to change. Changes are granted on space available and eligibility.

Monthly and Trimester Behavior/Attendance Celebrations

At the end of each month, we will host an onsite reward activity for students who meet the following criteria:

No citations, no suspensions,
Zero days tardy, truant, or absent (perfect attendance)
Must be academically eligible (2.0 GPA).

At the end of the first and second trimester, we will be rewarding our students with an offsite trip who meet the following criteria for the prior trimester:

No citations, no suspensions,
Two or less combined days tardy, truant, or absent
Must be academically eligible (2.0 GPA).

The reward celebrations will be held at the school site and students will be notified after the end of the trimester.

End of the Year Good Behavior/Attendance Reward Trip

At the end of the year, we may reward our Woodrow Wilson Good Behavior Students with a trip to a facility as may be deemed appropriate. Students participating in this trip will only need to provide spending money. All transportation and ticket prices will be covered by the school. The following criteria for the school year must be met in order to be deemed a good behavior/good attendance student and therefore be eligible to participate in the trip:

1 or less level A citations,
No Suspensions
No level B or C citations,
No more than 1 unexcused absence
6 or less combined days tardy, truant, or absent,
Never been placed on the ineligibility list for the current school year
1^st day of attendance at Woodrow Wilson must be on or before the last day of the 1^st Trimester.

Reminder: Notice Regarding Off-Campus Food
ONLY Parents/Guardians are allowed to bring off-campus food or drinks for their students only. Woodrow Wilson Office will not accept delivery of food or drink for any student unless it is provided by that student's parent. Please do not bring food/drinks for your student to share with their friends.

Lunch for all students is 12:15pm-1:15pm.

Students cannot take food or drinks, other than water, into the classroom. Any items brought after the lunch hour will be given to students after school.

The Hanford Elementary School District under the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), is required to develop and implement a Management Plan for dealing with the presence of asbestos containing materials in our schools. The Management Plan for Woodrow Wilson Junior High School is available for your inspection in the school office. A copy of all school plans is also available at the District Office located at 714 North White Street.

Welcome to Wilson Junior High, home of the Warriors. The Wilson Staff is honored to serve the children and families of our community. The administrative team and staff take the safety of our children very seriously. We work to establish positive relationships with all our students and strive to instill and model positive interactions between students. We are a school that provides a high-quality education and opportunities for students to grow and develop. Our students and staff take pride in being a part of Wilson Junior High and strive to build a great culture and safe learning environment for our students. We aim to foster the development of each child to reach their full potential.

Our two counselors, social worker, psychologist and Hanford Police School Resource Officer, along with the rest of the staff, are here to support our student body in working through the issues of adolescence.

Report Card Resources

Report cards are delivered to parents once each trimester during the school year. For Trimester 1, report cards are provided to parents at parent/teacher conferences on November 23rd and 24th. For the second and third trimesters, report cards are emailed to parent/guardian at the end of each trimester.

Woodrow Wilson Junior High publishes a resource document for parents that provides a clear explanation of the grades students receive and the proficiency levels that students are expected to achieve.
